This Tutorial features an activity on the 'Say No To Drugs campaign', an embedded maths activity on what alcohol data is showing amongst other discussion and research style activities. By the end of the session, students will be more knowledgeable on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

This is is a full lesson with activities which goes over in detail interview preparation, how to prepare for 'killer' questions and interview techniques to name but a few. The PowerPoint lesson resource has detailed notes in the notes field to help with delivery. There is a session plan included which can be adapted to suit your organisations paperwork. Originally designed for Access to HE Health and Social Care but could easily be tailored to suit a range of other courses. This is three lessons (3 hours in length each depending on pace and ability of the group) worth of activities and notes for teacher-led mini tutorials. Lessons plans included which can be tweaked and copied over to your organisations paper work. This lesson aims to provide them with an awareness so they are able to answer theory questions. I then arranged for St John Ambulance to come in to deliver a basic first aid course to students to gain their certificate. This could be amended to be delivered in tutorial or detail added to make it applicable to higher level BTEC or A-Level courses. This PowerPoint contains activities on how to call 999 and what to say, DR ABC protocol, risk assessment, basic treatment of unconsciousness, burns, bleeding, fractures, anaphylaxis and choking. Their are practical activities throughout with instructions which include scenarios. You would benefit from basic first aid supplies e.g. gloves, bandages etc. CPR is not included in the lesson content due to health and safety implications and not having access to a resuscitation mannequin at the time of delivery. Teacher will need some basic prior knowledge to deliver this lesson.

This is a whole lesson which was originally delivered over a 3 hour session but can be divided to make shorter sessions. Students will explore a range of topics via research, discuss and debating activities. Topics are as follows: Euthanasia and the differences between the subtypes Making Choices about end of life care End of Life Policies

This lesson is aimed at developing students academic skills and giving them an overview into the various aspects of Community Care and why it is necessary considering the current state of the Health and Social Care system. This was originally delivered in two, 3 hour blocks, however can easily be adapted to work over several shorter lessons. The lesson covers: Overview of Community Care Examples of Services Primary and Intermediate Care Real life examples with case studies Day Centres Home Care VS Hospital Care Reducing Avoidable admissions Self Management of Health Conditions Tele-Health/Tele-Care The activities which have been included for students are designed to prepare students for university e.g. writing literature reviews, investigative the effectiveness, evaluations, research and discussions. References and Data used throughout.

Some detailed lessons and other student resources on research methods which were originally tailored for an Access to HE Course but will also be useful for students embarking on an EPQ or for A-Level students who are exploring research methods. There are two versions of an interactive tutorial lesson, one aimed at health and another aimed at sociology research projects. There are activities on questionnaire writing, interviews, data analysis, ethics and report writing structure. These resources would need to be delivered over a series of lessons. They will need adjusting to suit learners needs.

Student Focused Investigation style lesson where students will be researching the prevalence and causation of mental health problems in Adolescents.

A very detailed, heavy session which covers various aspects of Atypcial Psychology, including activities for students. I would recommend re-formating to make slides more user friendly. Originally designed for Access to Higher Education but can be tweaked to fit A-Level specifications.

A two part workshop style lesson based on presentation skills which was delivered across two days. It uses a health context, however, this can be adapted to any other subject area. The main lesson objectives are: To recap prior learning. To identify at least 3 poor presentation skills (starter activity). To reflect on areas of self-improvement in relation to presentation skills (self-audit). To utilize a strategy for planning an effective presentation. To deliver a professional presentation which delivers a clear message. The powerpoint contains student prompts for a carousel activity which will introduce them to the AMPM technique, and guidance on how to incorporate data into their presentations. All resources have been included, however you will also need two pieces of flipchart paper to enable students to mindmap 'Medium' and 'Message'. There is also minimal cutting needed for the presenter card sort which has also been included. The worksheet entitled 'audience' has also been included which completes the carousel activity. English, Maths, Employability and Equality & Diversity skills have been embedded throughout.

Lesson Objectives: To identify the common places to look for jobs. To identify the less common places to look for jobs. To be able to provide their own evidence for jobsearch trackers. Aimed at job searchers/seekers over the age of 16. Comes with student and teacher handout. Would benefit from a powerpoint presentation to aid in delivery.

Whole lesson covering what forensic psychology is and treatment of criminals. Student activities contained.

This session will need between 1-2 hours depending on the group. Students should be able to meet the following objectives: -Identify the five main models of abnormality -Discuss the implications for treatment of each model -Evaluate the models of abnormality They will be able to look in-depth at disorders and treatments which align with the main models. Several activities embedded throughout.

This is about 4 hours worth of teacher-led tutorial and student activities on health promotion. Students will cover the following: Healthy/unhealthy/risk taking behaviours Why health promotion is used Organisations on a local and national level which seek to promote health Health Targets Models of Behaviour Change Health Promotion Activities and Techniques Students will build on their research and evaluation skills.

This was originally delivered over 2, 3 hour lessons to Access to HE students. There are activities including; types of abuse, accessible complaints procedures, serious case reviews and an activity where students have to design a new Health and Social Care Service compliant with safeguarding policy. Please note that this lesson is aimed at adult learners who have some prior knowledge of safeguarding. Furthermore, learners are expected to work as independent learners in the same way that they will at university. You will require computers for your students in order for them to do some independent research.
